Name: Postman Quest.
Location: Post Office headquarters between Dwarven Bridge and Mount Sternum.
Reward: Cheaper Parcels, Letters, travel. Ability to use blocked mailboxes; Post Officer's Hat and Post Horn.
Monsters: Goblins or Skeletons, Dwarfs, Minotaurs, Trolls, Orcs.

Mission 1: The Ship Routes

Find Kevin at the Post Office headquarters between Dwarven Bridge and Mount Sternum and talk to him:

  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: You are not a member of our guild yet! We have high standards for our members. To rise in our guild is a difficult but rewarding task. Are you interested in joining?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Hm, I might consider your proposal, but first you will have to prove your worth by doing some tasks for us. Are you willing to do that?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Excellent! Your first task will be quite simple. But you should better write my instructions down anyways. You can read and write?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: So listen, you will check certain tours our members have to take to see if there is some trouble. First travel with Captain Bluebear's ship from Thais to Carlin, understood?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Excellent! Once you have done that you will travel with Uzon to Edron. You will find him in the Femor Hills. Understood?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Fine, fine! Next, travel with Captain Seahorse to the city of Venore. Understood?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Good! Finally, find the technomancer Brodrosch and travel with him to the Isle of Cormaya. After this passage report back to me here. Understood?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Ok, remember: the Tibian mail service puts trust in you! Don't fail and report back soon. Just tell me about your MISSION.
  • Player: Bye

1. Go to Thais
2. Swim to Carlin
3. Go to the flying carpet in Femor Hills
4. Fly to Edron
5. Fly to Venore
6. Get to Kazordoon
7. Swim by steamer to Cormaya

Return to Kevin and talk:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: So you have finally made it! I did not think that you would have it in you ... However: are you ready for another assignment?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: I am glad to hear that. One of our mailboxes was reported to be jammed. It is located on the so called 'mountain' on theisle Folda. Get a crowbar and fix the mailbox. Report about your mission when you have done so.
  • Player: Bye

Mission 2: The Jammed Mailbox

After talking to Kevin, buy a Crowbar (this is best done in Kazordoon or on Edron. You can also get one from NPC Lubo near Thais).

Sail to Folda and climb to the highest hilltop.

Use the Crowbar on the mailbox.

Return to Kevin and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: Excellent, you got it fixed! This will teach this mailbox a lesson indeed! Are you interested in another assignment?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: For your noble deeds I grant you the title Assistant Postofficer. All Postofficers will charge you less money from now on. After every second mission ask me for an ADVANCEMENT. Your next task will be a bit more challenging. Do you feel ready for it?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: I need you to deliver a bill to the stage magician David Brassacres. He's hiding from his creditors somewhere in Venore. It's likely you will have to trick him somehow to reveal his identity. Report back when you delivered this bill.
  • Player: Bye

You get promoted to Assistant Postofficer, making Letters and Parcels cheaper.

Mission 3: Bill Delivery

After the conversation, go to Venore and find the guy "A Strange Fellow" in the tavern under the dp. Talk to him (some Rabbits will appear as a result of the conversation):

  • Player: Hi
  • A Strange Fellow: Uh? What do you want?!
  • Player: Hat
  • A Strange Fellow: What? My hat?? Theres... nothing special about it!
  • Player: Hat
  • A Strange Fellow: Stop bugging me about that hat, do you listen?
  • Player: Hat
  • A Strange Fellow: Hey! Don't touch that hat! Leave it alone!!! Don't do this!!!!
  • Player: Hat
  • A Strange Fellow: Noooooo! Argh, ok, ok, I guess I can't deny it anymore, I am David Brassacres, the magnificent, so what do you want?
  • Player: Bill
  • A Strange Fellow: A bill? Oh boy so you are delivering another bill to poor me?
  • Player: Yes
  • A Strange Fellow: Ok, ok, I'll take it. I guess I have no other choice anyways. And now leave me alone in my misery please.
  • Player: Bye
  • A Strange Fellow: Good riddance.

Go to Kevin and report to him the completion of the mission:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: You truly got him? Quite impressive. You are a very promising candidate! I think I have another mission for you. Are you interested?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Ok, listen: we have some serious trouble with agressive dogs lately. We have accumulated some bones as a sort of pacifier but we need more. Collect 20 bones like the one in my room to the left and report here.
  • Player: Bye

Mission 4: Aggressive Dogs

Collect 20 Bones, and then go to Kevin and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: Do you bring ONE bone for our officers' safety fund or ALL bones at once?
  • Player: All
  • Kevin: Are you sure you have collected all the 20 bones needed?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: You have collected all the 20 bones needed. Excellent! Now let's talk about further missions if you are interested.
  • Player: Advancement
  • Kevin: You are worthy indeed. Do you want to advance in our guild?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: I grant you the title of postman. You are now a full member of our guild. Here have your own officers hat and wear it with pride.
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: You have made it! We have enough bones for the fund! You remind me of myself when I was young! Interested in another mission?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Since I am convinced I can trust you, this time you must deliver a valuable present to Dermot on Fibula. Do NOT open it!!! You will find the present behind the door here on the lower right side of this room.

You receive a promotion to Postman (Postman) and your own cap (Post Officer's Hat).

Mission 5: Present Delivery

Go behind the flickering door to the right, open the box that contains a gift that you can't open! If you do you will have to buy a new package from Store! Go to Fibula and talk to Dermot:

  • Player: Hi
  • Dermot: Hello, traveller player. How can I help you?
  • Player: Present
  • Dermot: You have a present for me?? Realy?
  • Player: Yes
  • Dermot: Thank you very much!

Go back to Kevin and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: Splendid, I knew we could trust you. I would like to ask for your help in another matter. Are you interested?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Ok. We need a new set of uniforms, and only the best will do for us. Please travel to Venore and negotiate with Hugo Chief acontract for new uniforms.

Mission 6: New Uniforms

After talking to Kevin, go to Venore and find Hugo southeast of the depo:

  • Player: Hi
  • Hugo: Be greeted, player!
  • Player: New set of uniforms
  • Hugo: A new uniform for the post officers? I am sorry but my dog ate the last dress pattern we used. You need to supply us with a new dress pattern.
  • Player: New dress pattern
  • Hugo: It was ... wonderous beyond wildest imaginations! I have no clue where Kevin Postner got it from. Better ask him.

Go back to Kevin and tell him:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: New dress pattern
  • Kevin: Oh yes, where did we get that from ...? Let's see, first ask the great technomancer in Kazordoon for the technical details. Return here afterwards.

Go to Talphion in Kazordoon Talk to him:

Go back to Kevin and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: New dress pattern
  • Kevin: The mail with Talphion's instructions just arived. I remember we asked Queen Eloise of Carlin for the perfect colours. Go there, ask her about the UNIFORMS and report back here.

Go to Queen Eloise in Carlin and say:

  • Player: Hail Queen
  • Queen Eloise: I greet thee, my loyal subject.
  • Player: Uniforms
  • Queen Eloise: I remember about those uniforms, they had a camouflage inlay so they could be worn the inside out too. I will send some color samples via mail to Mr. Postner.

Return to Kevin and:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: New dress pattern
  • Kevin: The queen has sent me the samples we needed. The next part is tricky. We need theuniforms to emanate some odor that dogs hate.The dog with the best 'taste' in that field is Noodles,the dog of King Tibianus. Do you understand so far?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Good. Go there and find out what taste he dislikes most: mouldy cheese, a piece of fur or abananaskin. Tell him to SNIFF, then the object. Show him the object and ask 'Do you like that?'.DONT let the guards know what you are doing.

Get 3 things now: rotten cheese, a banana peel and an old fur coat.

Visit King Tibianus' dog, Noodles, make sure the guards don't see you and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Noodles: <sniff> Woof! <sniff>
  • Player: Sniff banana skin
  • Noodles: <sniff><sniff>
  • Player: Do you like that?
  • Noodles: Woof!
  • Player: Sniff Dirty Fur
  • Noodles: <sniff><sniff>
  • Player: Do you like that?
  • Noodles: Woof!
  • Player: Sniff Mouldy Cheese
  • Noodles: <sniff><sniff>
  • Player: Do you like that?
  • Noodles: Meeep! Grrrrr! <spits>

Go back to Kevin and talk:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: New dress pattern
  • Kevin: Fine, fine. I think that should do it. Tell Hugo that we order those uniforms. The completed dress pattern will soon arrive in Venore. Report to me when you have talked to him.\

Go back to the tailor Hugo in Venore and tell him:

  • Player: Hi
  • Hugo: Be greeted, player!
  • Player: New dress pattern
  • Hugo: By the gods of fashion! Didn't it do that I fed the last dress pattern to my poor dog? Will this mocking of all which is taste and fashion never stop?? Ok, ok, you will get those ugly, stinking uniforms and now get lost, fashion terrorist.

Go back to Kevin and tell him:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: Excellent! Another job well done! Would you accept another mission?
  • Player: Advancement
  • Kevin: You are worthy indeed. Do you want to advance in our guild?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: From now on it shall be known that you are a grand postman. You are now a privilegedmember until the end of days. Most captains around the world have an agreement with our guild to transport our privileged members, like you, for less gold.
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: *Kevin: Excellent! Another job well done! Would you accept another mission?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Good, so listen. Hugo Chief informed me that he needs the measurements of our postofficers. Go and bring me the measurements of Ben, Lokur, Dove, Liane, Chrystal and Olrik.

You are promoted to Outstanding Postman (Grand Postman), which gives you reductions in travel prices by 10 gp.

Mission 7: Measurements

After talking to Kevin, prepare 12 Arrows, Grapes and about 100 gp

Go to Edron and talk to Chrystal:

  • Player: Hi
  • Chrystal: At your service player.
  • Player: Measurements
  • Chrystal: If its necessary ... <tells you her measurements>

Go to Carlin and talk to Liane (Here you will lose 12 Arrows):

  • Player: Hi
  • Liane: Hello player. May I help you?
  • Player: Measurements
  • Liane: I have more urgent problem to attend then that. Those hawks are hunting my carrier pigeons. Bring me 12 arrows and I'll see if I have the time for this nonsense. Do you have 12 arrows with you?
  • Player: Yes
  • Liane: Great! Now I'll teach them a lesson ... For those measurements ... <tells you her measurements>

Go to Kazordoon and talk to Lokur:

  • Player: Hi
  • Lokur: Hiho player. May I help you?
  • Player: Measurements
  • Lokur: Come on, I have no clue what they are. Better ask my armorer Kroox for such nonsense.Go and ask him for good ol' Lokurs measurements, he'll know.

He will send you back to Kroox:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kroox: Welcome to Kroox Quality Armor, player!
  • Player: Lokurs measurements
  • Kroox: Hm, well I guess its ok to tell you ... <tells you about Lokurs measurements>

Go to Thais and talk to Benjamin:

  • Player: Hi
  • Benjamin: Hello. How may I help you player?
  • Player: Measurements
  • Benjamin: Oh they dont change that much since in the old days as... <tells a boring and confusing story about a cake, a parcel, himself and two squirrels, at least he tells you his measurements in the end>

Go to Venore and talk to Dove (Here you will lose your Grapes):

  • Player: Hi
  • Dove: Be greeted, noble player.
  • Player: Measurements
  • Dove: Oh no! I knew that day would come! I am slightly above the allowed weight and if you can't supply me with some grapes to slim down I will get fired. Do you happen to have some grapes with you?
  • Player: Yes
  • Dove: Oh thank you! Thank you so much! So listen ... <whispers her measurements>

Go to Ab'Dendriel and talk to Olrik (Here you will lose 5 gp or more):

  • Player: Hi
  • Olrik: Greetings, player. May I help you?
  • Player: Measurements
  • Olrik: My measurements? Listen, lets make that a bit more exciting ... No, no, not what you think! I mean let's gamble. I will roll a dice. If I roll a 6 you win and I'll tell you what you need to know, else I win and get 5 gold. Deal?
  • Player: Yes (now repeat yes so many times until you hit six)
  • Olrik: Ok, here we go ... 6! You have won! How lucky you are! So listen ...<tells you what you need to know>

Go to Kevin and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: Once more you have impressed me! Are you willing to do another job?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Ok but your next assignment might be dangerous. Our Courier Waldo has been missing for a while. I must assume he is dead. Can you follow me so far?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Find out about his whereabouts and retrieve him or at least his posthorn. He was looking for a new underground passage that is rumoured to be found underneath the troll-infested Mountain east of Thais.

Mission 8: Missing Courier

After the conversation, go to the Troll cave east of Thais and dig a hole with a Shovel.

  • Go down and go to the right.
  • Turn to the north.
  • Turn east the second time.
  • Go up the ladder and open the locked door to the left.
  • Open the body to get the horn.

Go back to Kevin and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: So Waldo is dead? This is grave news indeed. Did you recover his posthorn?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Thank you. We will honour this. Your next mission will be a very special one. Good thing you are a special person as well. Are you ready?
  • Player: Advancement
  • Kevin: You are worthy indeed. Do you want to advance in our guild?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: From now on you are a grand postman for special operations. You are an honoured member of our guild and earned the privilege of your own post horn. Here, take it.
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: So are you ready for another Mission?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: So listen well. Behind the lower left door you will find a bag. The letters in the bag are for none other than Santa Claus! Deliver them to his house on the isle of Vega, USE thebag on his mailbox and report back here.

You are promoted to Outstanding Postman for Special Operations, and given your own Post Horn

Mission 9: Dear Santa

After talking to Kevin, open the flickering door on the left. Open the chest (you must have 500 cap free) and take the bag (Letterbag).

Druid/Sorcerer - 11 lvl
Paladin - 10 lvl
Knight - 10 lvl

Sail to Vega and go west to Santa's house Use the bag on the mailbox, then return to Kevin and say:

  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: You did it? I hope you did not catch a flu in the cold! However theres another mission for you. Are you interested?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: Excellent. Here is a letter for you to deliver. Well, to be honest, no one else volunteered. It's a letter from the mother of Markwin, the king of Mintwallin. Deliver that letter to him, but note that you will not be welcome there.

Mission 10: Mintwallin

After talking to Kevin, go to Mintwallin

Say hello to Markwin, but if you do it for the first time be careful - he will summon a guard:

3 Minotaur Mages
2-3 Minotaur Guards
2-3 Minotaur Archers
a few regular Minotaurs

After the fight, give him the letter from his mother:

  • Player: Hi
  • Markwin: Well ... you defeated my guards! Now everything is over! I guess I will have to answer your questions now.
  • Player: Letter
  • Markwin: A letter from my Moohmy?? Do you have a letter from my Moohmy to me?
  • Player: Yes
  • Markwin: Uhm, well thank you, hornless being.

Don't say bye because then you will be flamed.

Go to Kevin and say:

  • Player: Hi
  • Kevin: Greetings player, what brings you here?
  • Player: Mission
  • Kevin: You have delivered that letter? You are a true postofficer. All over the land bards shallpraise your name. There are no missions for you left right now.
  • Player: Advancement
  • Kevin: You are worthy indeed. Do you want to advance in our guild?
  • Player: Yes
  • Kevin: I grant you the title of archpostman. You are a legend in our guild. As privilege of your newly aquired status you are allowed to make use of certain mailboxes in dangerous areas. Just look out for them and you'll see.

You get promoted to Archpostman and from now on you can use mailboxes in dangerous places!
